The Met Gala ends surprisingly early, according to Hawes. "Everyone's gone! It allows attendees to change into new outfits and head to other parties," she explains. However, when Hawes and her husband, actor Matthew Macfadyen, attended the event last year, they skipped the afterparties entirely.
“We were so stunned and tired. We went straight back to our hotel. Talked about everything we'd seen.”
Relaxing at Home
After the gala, the couple chose to unwind by watching Naked And Afraid, a reality TV show where two strangers survive for 21 days in the wild with no clothes or resources.
“I was quite into Naked And Afraid at the time, so we watched a bit of that to sort-of calm down.”
Hawes added, "It took the edge off, having a little glass of wine and watching an episode."
