Elder Gérald Caussé was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday. He was ordained by President Dallin H. Oaks along with other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ,” Caussé said in a press release. “He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
The Church states that Apostles are special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world.
They carry significant administrative responsibilities, including overseeing the operation and growth of the global Church.
Caussé, 62, was born in Bordeaux, France. He currently serves as Presiding Bishop and has been active in his duties, including speaking to youth during devotionals, such as one held in Versailles, France, on July 21, 2024.
