Elder Gérald Caussé was called on Thursday by President Dallin H. Oaks to join The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, replacing the late President Russell M. Nelson as a modern-day apostle of Jesus Christ.
The 62-year-old Elder Caussé was sustained to this lifelong position by The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve and subsequently ordained as an apostle. He fills the vacancy left by President Nelson’s passing.

Before his full-time church service, Elder Caussé was a businessman and earned an equivalent of a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
