Wicked star Ariana Grande has said goodbye to her signature ponytail after dyeing her hair brunette, ending three years of being blonde. This change followed her role in Wicked: For Good, where she debuted the new look on Instagram.
Ariana, known for her blonde hair since 2022, showcased her brunette transformation during an appearance on the French talk show Le Quotidien. Sitting alongside co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, she wore her brunette hair down over her shoulders, abandoning her usual ponytail style.
Beyond her hair, Ariana’s appearance changed with several matching tattoos she got with Cynthia Erivo. Both have tattoos on their palms, among others.
“Well, we each got the ‘For Good’s,” Ariana said on Le Quotidien, before adding, “We have one that we can’t show. Well, we have two we can’t show.”
Jonathan Bailey joked about his own tattoo, saying,
“I’ve just got Ari here and Cynthia there.”
Ariana emphasized that the friendships formed during the production are more enduring than any physical change. She commented,
“We’re thankfully stuck with each other for the rest of our lives. These characters have had such a beautiful impact on all of us, on our lives.”
