Goulburn Valley Remembrance Day Services

Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place across towns in the Goulburn Valley on Tuesday, November 11, to honor Australians who fought and died in service.

General Ceremony Details

All events will feature a wreath laying and a minute of silence at 11 a.m.

Shepparton Service

The Shepparton service will start at 10:30 a.m. at the cenotaph located at the corner of Welsford and Fryers Streets.

The guest speaker will be Kyriakos ‘Ken’ Tsirigotis, who served 22 years in the Australian Army, mainly in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps as a reconnaissance paratrooper.

Since leaving the Australian Defence Force, Ken Tsirigotis has worked with Melbourne Legacy, holding roles including chief operating officer. He has also served on the Victorian Veterans Council and led operations for the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay.

A memorial plaque honoring World War I nurses trained in the Goulburn Valley will be unveiled at the cenotaph.

Mooroopna Service

The Mooroopna service will be held at the Mooroopna cenotaph on McLennan Street.

The guest speaker will be Adrian Ambrose, a former school teacher and retired lawyer.

These services provide a moment to remember and pay respect to those who sacrificed for Australia.
