The UN Digital Transformation Group for Europe and Central Asia (UNDTG4ECA) recently held another session in its ongoing Webinar Series for UN Country Teams (UNCTs), featuring active participation from the WMO Regional Office for Europe.
The session centered on the theme AI for Good, exploring the path from policy design to real-world implementation at the national level. Discussions emphasized how the United Nations assists countries in making effective use of artificial intelligence.
“The United Nations supports countries in leveraging artificial intelligence, with a practical look at the actions different UN agencies are taking to help governments move forward.”
Presentations were delivered by UNDP, WHO, UNICEF, FAO, UNESCO, ITU, and WMO. Each agency shared concise overviews of their AI-related projects and presented case studies from nations across Europe and Central Asia.
This collaborative exchange reaffirmed the UN system’s role in advancing innovation and digital transformation as drivers of sustainable development. Upcoming webinars will continue to serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and strengthening joint learning among UNCTs, Resident Coordinators, and partners.
