BBC Studios is expanding its popular early learning animation series with a new interactive spinoff called Yakka Dee! What Can You See?. The series will premiere on the dedicated channel for the original show, King Banana TV.
The show features 15 episodes, each lasting three minutes, produced by King Banana (known for Nikhil & Jay and Yakka Dee!). These digital-first installments invite preschoolers to play a spotting game that transforms passive watching into an engaging, interactive experience. Kids are encouraged to find three specific items in each scene, which appear in locations like the beach, a café, and outer space.
“Yakka Dee! What Can You See? is an exciting evolution of the Yakka Dee! brand, designed to spark curiosity and deepen engagement in young learners,” said Cecilia Persson, Managing Director of Kids & Family at BBC Studios. “This new interactive format brings language development to life through play, helping children build essential skills while having fun. We’re proud to continue innovating with King Banana to deliver content that supports early learning and reflects the joyful spirit of Yakka Dee!”
Yakka Dee! has become a beloved preschool show aired on CBeebies and iPlayer. It fills an important gap by encouraging early language acquisition—an ongoing need for many children in today’s educational landscape.
This new interactive spinoff enhances the educational value of Yakka Dee! by inviting children to actively observe and learn through playful challenges, supporting early language skills in a fun, engaging way.
