Imagine ordering a Box Combo from Raising Cane's and being served by a three-time World Series champion. That’s exactly what happened to several lucky customers on Wednesday.
Dodgers catcher Will Smith, instrumental in winning Game 7 of the World Series, took orders and served meals during a special celebratory shift at Raising Cane's newest location on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
“It was crazy,” Smith said. “It was a crazy moment.”
The decisive home run came off a 2-0 slider from Shane Bieber, landing in the Blue Jays' bullpen in left field, giving the Dodgers their first lead of the night.
Raising Cane's donated $100,000 to Smith's Catching Hope Foundation, which supports underprivileged children by teaching them essential leadership, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency skills.
“The foundation helps children with critical skills needed for leadership, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.”
